The Empty Jar and Two Cups of Tea
One day, a teacher entered the classroom with a large empty jar.
She placed it on the table and started filling it with big stones.
“Is the jar full?” she asked.
“Yes!” the students replied.
Then she took a bag of small pebbles and poured it in.
The pebbles filled the spaces between the big stones.
“Is it full now?”
The students smiled and said, “Yes!”
She then poured in sand, which filled all the remaining space.
“NOW is it full?”
They laughed, “Yes, now it’s full!”
Finally, she took two cups of tea and poured them in — the liquid slid between the sand and filled every gap.
π The Teacher Explained:
- The jar is your life.
- The big stones are your priorities — family, health, peace.
- The pebbles are work, house, responsibilities.
- The sand is social media, small worries, etc.
- And the tea? There’s always room for a cup of tea with a friend ☕π
If you fill your life with “sand” first, you’ll have no space for the things that truly matter.
Choose wisely. Balance gently. And never forget to slow down for tea — and grace.
