என் மறைவிடமும் என் கேடகமும் நீரே; உம்முடைய வசனத்துக்குக் காத்திருக்கிறேன் - சங்கீதம் 119:114
Hope is not just a feeling—it is the quiet strength that holds us up when everything else seems to fall apart. It may look small like a flickering candle, but it can light the darkest night. Let me share a story that beautifully reflects this truth.
In a quiet snow-covered village, a little boy named Arun was sent by his mother to deliver a message to a neighbor before the snow got worse. But as the storm grew stronger, he lost his way. The once-familiar paths were now covered in white, and no landmarks were visible. Arun was cold, frightened, and on the verge of giving up.
With tears in his eyes, he whispered, “God, please help me.”
Far away, on a lonely hilltop, lived an elderly widow. Many years ago, she had lost her only son in a storm just like this. Since then, every winter night, she would light a candle and place it by her window—not just in memory of her son, but as a beacon of hope for anyone who might be lost.
That night, her small candle glowed through the storm. Arun saw the flicker in the distance and began walking toward it. With each step, the light seemed to grow warmer, brighter, and stronger in his heart.
Finally, he reached the house. The kind old woman welcomed him, gave him food and warmth, and contacted his parents. That one small act of hope—her nightly habit of lighting a candle—became the answer to someone’s desperate prayer.
Hope may seem small, but it has the power to guide, comfort, and save. Even the tiniest light—when lit with faith—can lead someone out of darkness.
