The Pause Between Two Breaths - Mindful Mondays with Joyful Scribbles

The Pause Between Two Breaths

In the pause between two breaths lies peace—silent, sacred, and full of meaning.
Pause. Listen. Be.

In a small village, nestled between hills and rice fields, lived an old potter named Thatha Mani. Every morning, he would sit at his spinning wheel and mold clay into beautiful pots. He never hurried. Every movement was deliberate—his hands wet with clay, his eyes focused, and his breath steady.

One day, a little girl named Meera came to watch. She was always restless—running, asking questions, jumping from one thing to another. Watching the old man work in silence puzzled her.

"Thatha, why do you work so slow?" she asked impatiently.

Mani smiled and said, "Come here, child. Place your hand on my chest."

Meera hesitated, but did as he said. She felt the gentle rise and fall of his breathing.

"You feel that?" he asked.
She nodded.

"Now, feel this..." he said, holding her hand still. "Between this breath... and the next... there’s a pause. That pause is where the magic happens. In that stillness, I know what the clay needs. In that quiet, I find peace."

Meera blinked, unsure.

Years later, after Thatha Mani had passed on, Meera became a well-known artist. But more than fame, she was known for her calm presence. When people asked her secret, she would smile and say:

"I learned to live in the pause between two breaths."

This week, take a few moments each day to:
ЁЯФ╣ Close your eyes
ЁЯФ╣ Inhale gently
ЁЯФ╣ Feel the pause
ЁЯФ╣ Exhale slowly

Let the pause become your place of calm.
