I remember the first time I tried to meditate. My mind was buzzing with a million thoughts — the to-do list, work deadlines, even what I would eat for dinner. I wondered, “How can anyone calm their mind like this?”
Then I learned a simple truth: meditation doesn’t mean stopping your thoughts; it’s about noticing them without judgment. So I started small.
-
Step 1: Sit comfortably, even on your bed, for just two minutes. (This one i learned from my father)
-
Step 2: Close your eyes and focus on your breathing — in… and out…
-
Step 3: Whenever your mind wanders, gently bring it back to your breath.
At first, it felt impossible. My mind raced. But slowly, those two minutes became five, then ten. And something beautiful happened: I began noticing little moments of calm throughout my day — the warmth of morning sunlight, the taste of tea.
Suggestion for You: Start with tiny steps. Even one minute counts. The goal is not perfection but awareness. Let your mind wander, and bring it back with kindness. Over time, the calm you cultivate in those few minutes can ripple into your entire day.
